These new Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Eyeshadow are seriously the bomb! Comparable to MAC paint pots, no joke. My only wish is that they had a more nude flesh toned color. 10 shades to choose from.

Dream Bouncy Blushes were just 'okay' to me. I do like there unique consistency and I do enjoy the buildable color...however the packaging is terribly cheap and small and the color payoff is now very good. Still worth a try, especially if you want a more natural barely there blush.

If you are a youtube beauty junkie like I am, then you have already heard about the Revlon Lip Butters over and over. I LOVE them, they feel so amazing on the lips just like a chapstick. Plus they have amazing pigment and are great to carry around in my purse for day to day touch ups. My favorite is definitely 'Berry Smoothie'. I also recently picked up 'Creme Brule' (not pictured here) and I am pretty sure that will end up being in my favorites video for this month. LOVE it!

Made peppermint bark today for a holiday party I am gong to tomorrow night. In the jar is the traditional bark I make every year, but I also tried out using a snowflake silcon mold from the Target $1 spot to give them a special look. I ADORE how they came out! Diary: A Moment

Just a simple moment; one of many that will pass me by. I tend to take these small moments for granted, but today I pause and appreciate it. May it be known that I am a woman with many thoughts, many ideas and many aspirations. I aim to succeed and I try not to ever doubt progression. At the same time, I don't set ideals of what I will be or where I will be at 25, 30, 50 years of age. Up to this point I have learned a great deal, but I would be fooling myself if I said I knew all life had to offer. I will say, in this moment, many improvements still need to be made before I could consider this the 'best possible' place in which I stand. The new year is creeping closer and closer, lets hope it brings even more victory and surprise than this year had to offer.

It started so perfect on that very warm August 31st evening. You made reservations to a cute hole in the wall sushi restaurant, you some how knew I loved booths even though I never mentioned it. We both wore pink..I felt it had to be fate. Even though you were late (a very good excuse in hand) the date went so smoothly, effortless, mostly smiles, and you seemed so genuinely interested in developing the relationship. Your teeth so perfectly straight and pearl and dressed so well. Spanish with all the charm and sophistication of a gentleman. Even your name, Edward..could you be my very own Twilight Edward come to life? And my mom’s maiden name as your last name...strange almost, too perfect. We shared sushi, dessert (flan) and drinks. When you walked me to my car I thought maybe you would try to kiss me, I could feel it coming, but I wasn’t at all worried, I would let you. And you did, and it was a great first kiss. You were very daring to do so, since I mentioned I didn’t usually allow it. You smiled after we left each others lips, you said my lips were so very soft and that you would contact me soon. I left with thoughts spinning in my head, had I finally found a mature match for me? You texted me soon after we parted and said that you wanted to see me again soon and how you hoped I was ok with how forward you were.

Days turned into months. You called me every single night and we talked for hours. We saw many movies together, “Fright Night”, “Strawdogs”, “Ides of March”, “50/50” and “In Time.” Each time you held me close or simply squeezed my hand, small kisses here and there, but never tried to pull a move, we watched the movies completely with a few comments to each other, neither of us minding in the slightest.

We shared some ‘firsts’ together. My first ‘Pumpkin Ale’ at Four Peaks and your first corn maze on our trip to Schnepf Farms Pumpkin Festival. You even meet a few of my friends at Oktoberfest. You were so well behaved, got along with them so wonderfully, I had some hope in my heart that night. We also took our first pictures together that night.

Summer turned to fall. With the cooler weather came the chill down my spine. The realization that you were not the one I would spend eternity with. The countless red flags flapping in the wind in front of my face. I didn’t ignore them, but I continued further. Your extremely homophobic ways, your views on politics and abortion, I could have agreed to disagree, but you insisted on trying to ‘discuss’ why I felt the way I do. I couldn’t stand your condescending remarks, the way you spoke like you were the all knowing Buddha of knowledge just because your 10 years older than I. God forbid your wrong, you acted as if the world would become flat if you said it was. We were having so much fun and I didn’t want to end it...maybe you would finally lock me down, maybe you would make a move to prove me wrong. Instead you let me down more then once...

It was that one weekend in November that set it all tumbling down permanently. How could you think it wasn’t your responsibility to call me after canceling a date and not inviting me to that reception..you knew I was upset, but instead of caring and calling me, you decided to go about your merry way the whole weekend without a single word. In my mind it was over the moment you didn’t call. But then, you decide to text me that Monday and ask me why I HADNT called or texted...what the fuck! How dare you try to throw it on me! Then you call that night and take no responsibility for your actions like a pathetic school boy, mature 35 year old my ass. No wonder you are single at such a ripe age! Your serious commitment issues, condescending nature, and hardheaded ways sealed your coffin. And by not being able to simply apologize to me, buddy you just put a few more nails in place. I could tell you were shocked when I ended it, but you didn’t fight for it in the slightest, and we parted with a ‘wish you the best’ and a “friendship” vow.

I was instantly relieved, didn’t shed a single tear or remorse over the loss. And this proves to me that it wasn’t right for me, this some kind of ‘relationship’ of 2.5 months we shared. I thank God I never gave myself completely to you, that would have made it harder to break. I am also grateful for how for the most part you were respectful and good to me, always treating me to our dates and never pushing me too far. I pray for the next woman that you date. She will need to be an extremely needy push over for it to work for you...both traits I will never possess.

Sealed with a top coat of the fabulous Seche vite.

As far as nude nails go..I don't think I am a huge fan of the flesh tons such as this Zoya polish, I think more of a fair pink works for me. So I just had to add a touch of sparkle, and this NYC polish is perfect for that. I did about 2 coats of the glitter. I do love how nude nails go with every outfit!

And these beauties were a gift from my mom! Delivered today by Nordstrom direct to our home. They are the 'I-Dreemy' Ballet Flat by Steve Madden and can be found here. They are a nude color completely covered in gems, they shine and glitter like crazy!

I was invited to come to MAC's Glitter & Ice event at my local Dillards for a free 'makeover' with all the new products. Bellow are a few close ups of my eye makeup. If you have any questions on the rest of the makeup used feel free to leave a comment and I will answer :) It was so much fun to have someone do my makeup for me for once, and the artist (Dennis) was super sweet and lovely. My mom also was able to get her makeup done, she is now in love with MAC as much as me. She wouldn't let me post her before and afters, so you will just have to take my word for it, she looked gorgeous!

My Halloween Costume

I LOVE dressing up, so Halloween is always so much fun for me. Plus to quote the movie Mean Girls, "In Girl World, Halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it." haha. Any way, I was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz for Halloween this year. My costume was purchased at 'Spirit'. I made a visit to my favorite Ulta to pick up the new marked down, pink packaged, hair products that they have specially for breast cancer awareness month! And of course ended up doing a bit more damage then just hair products...most of the above finds however were apart of a sale. (video bellow!)

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

Its that time of year again when baking becomes a common part of my week. I love the way these delicious, moist cookies make the house smell so heavenly. Something about that spice smell warms my heart and makes me feel like fall has finally arrived. Hope your tummy loves them as much as my family does. xoxo

INGREDIENTS:

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (I sub 1/4 cup with whole grain flour)
1 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 can (15oz) 100% pure pumpkin puree
2 large eggs
2 cups (12oz pkg) semi-sweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS:
Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees F, grease pans (or line with parchment paper)

Combine flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, baking soda and salt in medium bowl.

Beat softened butter and sugar in large mixer bowl until creamy.

Beat in pumpkin, eggs and vanilla extract.

Gradually beat in flour mixture

Stir in chocolate chips gently.

Drop by rounded tablespoon onto prepared baking sheets.

Bake for 12 to 20 minutes(depending on your oven) or until edges are lightly browned. Let them cool on the baking sheet for at least 5 mins before placing them on a rack to cool completely. Then enjoy with a nice tall glass of milk!

Wacky Wed: 5 DIY Hair Fixes!

Avoid Brassiness
Tip #1: For all my blondes out there, make sure to use PURPLE SHAMPOO to help with toning your fabulous locks. It leaves your hair look at its best golden blonde instead of having it look brassy and icky orange. I use AG Sterling Silver Shampoo and conditioner. Make sure to also use a deep conditioner once a week because purple shampoos can be a bit drying.

Softer hair, growth promotion and help with those nasty split ends
Tip #2: Use COCONUT OIL! Certain components in it keep the hair strong, vitalized, nourished and protected from effects of ageing. I usually run a good amount through out my hair, avoid putting too much on your roots because you could end up looking oily. Then leave on for 1-3 hours. Afterward you can shampoo as regular, but when using conditioner focus on the ends only. I do this a few times a month. You can find this product usually at Whole Foods or any organic markets.

Eliminating Product Build-up
Tip #3: (after using all that hair spray ext that we girls love so much) use a mixture of 2-3tbsp of APPLE CIDER VINEGAR with one cup of water, cover dry or wet hair in this mixture and leave for 10-30 min. Then do a light shampoo (to get out that vinegar smell) and condition your ends.

Add Shine
Tip #4: use a BANANA MIXTURE containing one whole banana massed up and one whole egg. Mix together into a paste and apply all over hair. Leave for 10-30min and then shampoo as regular.

Add Volume
Tip#5: Use a tepid BEER! First you will shampoo your hair as normal. Then while hair is still wet in shower pour the bottle of beer onto your hair making sure to cover all surface. Wait a few minutes and then rinse.

When the fabulous new Revlon polish 'Facets of Fuchsia' caught my eye at the new fall display, I grabbed up the last one and even though I didn't realllly need another polish..it was just too stunning. It has a black base with both finally milled and big hexagon shaped plum purple glitter. AND it is an EXACT dupe of Deborah Lippmann's "BAD ROMANCE"!!! And I mean exact, and that's a good $14 dollar savings since Deborah's polishes go for $18 while I was able to snag this polish for only $2.99!

Makeup Monday: BB Cream Review

I have been hearing amazing things about BB cream from so many fabulous girls on youtube that I just had to cave and finally try one. After much research I went with the Lioele Triple the Solution BB Cream which features anti UV protection (SPF30 PA++), anti wrinkle care, whitening and moisturizing effects. It also includes vegetable based collagen to help smooth the skin. I ordered online here because it is not available in stores here in the US. First off the packaging is so so adorable. Then the cream itself is pretty light but works with my skin tone. You definitely need to have a setting powder unless you like a bit of a shine. It made my skin look so flawless and completely matte. I am so addicted now! It also has a bit of a floral scent, which I like but if you are sensitive to smells you may not enjoy that. Overall I am so happy with it xo

The favorite part of my 'outfit of the day' is my awesome ring (purchased from Karmaloop.com)! It is part of the 'Disney Couture Jewelry' line, specifically it is the Pirates of the Caribbean glamour skull ring in silver :) It came in this adorable purple drawstring bag, definite Disney charm. Mine is in a size 6, I believe they have it up to a size 8. It's excellent quality and the details are amazing.

Wacky Wednesday! Today I decided to post my September favorites for my little honeybees, however while editing the video ( I actually filmed it about a week ago) I realized that for some reason the first introduction part of the video was gone! So I had to film an intro this morning for you all...which will explain my different attire and different hair color in the beginning. Drastic hair difference, although it looks way more red then it really was due to the lighting. But I am now much more of a lighter dirty blonde and still trying to get all of the red out of my hair. I found this awesome wrap around coil Mixit bracelet at JCPenny on sale for $6 (mine is in a coraly pink color). I absolutely love how light weight it is and how it gives that layered look without the work :)

At Macy's I scored this American Rag maxi dress in gorgeous fall colors for $44, with a burnt orange bandeau for only $3 on sale! The bandeau matches the maxi perfect and I ended up wearing this out this past weekend to a friends party (you may recognize it from my last post for OOTN).

I am so in love with this adorable jacket I found at Forever 21 for only $17!! Perfect to add some flare to an every day school outfit.

Another favorite find was this super soft 3/4 sleeve light sweeter with fabulous bling all across the top. Great for a night out with the girls!

Thanks to a youtube tutorial from one of my favorite beauty girls STYLEsplurge, I put together this messy curled side bun. If you would like to see how to do this go here. I put my own little twist on it by adding a small french braid in the front.

Wet N' Wild Trio Eye Tutorial

Above is my latest youtube video, a summer outfit of the day that I wore out shopping on a very sunny day. Very casual yet still very girly and fashion forward.

Essie polish in 'turquoise and caicos' which is a gorgeous mint green. And an accent nail with Essence polish in 'choose me!' which is a sparkle with green, dark blue and turquoise tones.

A new addition to my 'Touch of Paris' bedroom! It is my new vanity seat, where I will sit every morning to do my makeup! It fits perfectly in my antique vanity. I got it for an amazing deal at TJMAXX, $32. It's wonderful quality, very sturdy, and has a velvety texture to the hot pink pattern. I will be posting a room tour some time next month so be on the look out!

Awesome new Sally Hansen Insta-Dri nail color in 'Snappy Sorbet'! It is a wonderful bright pop of color, yet it is still a soft orange..not too halloween looking at all. Very summertime lounging by the pool with my sorbet vibe.

And realized it is almost the exact color of my EOS Passion Fruit Lipbalm. Made me smile :)

My New Favs + Trip to Sephora

Yes I realize it is only the beginning of August (and I just posted my July favorites video a few weeks ago) but I am itching to share my recent favorites with you all! First is my new fragrance 'Dior Addict 2'! Honestly I can't even put into words how beautiful this scent is, and the name is perfect for it..because once you start smelling it you wont want to stop! It really is addicting! A friend of mine introduced me to it months ago but I finally gave in (with some birthday money) and purchased it a few days ago. I have a feeling this is all I will be wearing for a while. There is also a brand new Dior called 'Addict to Life' that just went on shelves a few days ago..however I am not a fan.

I am also in LOVE with my NARS lipstick in Roman Holiday. It is the perfect Barbie pink! But if you just do one soft coat it can also come off as a very sheer bright pink, which I adore with some light pink or nude lip gloss across the top.

While at Sephora (along with my NARS lip stick) I also grabbed a travel size of the Urban Decay De-Slick makeup setting spray. I have been wanting to try it out but hadn't made the jump to buy a regular bottle for $29 since I wasn't sure if it was completely worth it. So far I have tried it out once and it does set my makeup well but as for oil control my face is still pretty much the same. Dang this Arizona heat!

I received two perfume samples from Sephora as well! I am especially excited to try out the 'Peace Love & Juicy Couture', since I adore almost every Juicy Couture perfume out there. xo

Sephora & Elf Haul + Job Update!

I would sum up my first week of work as chaotic and hectic, but also met some amazing new people and did enjoy being with the patients. There is still a lot to learn and get adjusted to, I really hope I will receive more training because up to this point I have just been thrown into it all. The doctors however are all very nice and understanding.

So enough with boring every day stuff..on to the make-up!!! Recently I purchased a few of the Elf brand products at Target and absolutely loved them! I was hesitant at first, worried that the quality would not be up to par since it is very inexpensive-some products only $1 or $3! But really turned out to be wonderful quality and will definitely be going back for me. Watch my video for more details on specific products that I have recently tried.

I also had a Sephora order arrive in the mail recently, full of beautiful goodies, including my very first Nars blush, first Urban Decay pallet and first Tarte product. SO excited to use all of these. I used the Tarte eyeshadow liquid and powder duo in rose gold for the first time today, and it was stunning! Vibrant gold color and stayed the entire day.

A Fang-tastic Recipe

Words can not express what a huge fan I am of the HBO series True Blood. I have been absolutely hypnotized by the characters since the very first episode. I have also converted many of my friends and family over to the dark side, and we are now all obsessed with every blood sucking moment of Bon Temps (especially those moments concerning my personal addiction, Eric Northman). So much so, that every season I throw a 'season premiere party' as well as a 'season finale party'. I make vampire themed treats, dress in my 'Fangtasia' shirt and we all watch together. I have been counting down the days for months and now it is only a few short hours until I am watching the True Blood season 4 premiere with a few of my closest friends! In years past I have made a different vampire themed cupcake for every season premiere (season 2 cupcake, season 3 cupcake, season 3 finale cupcake- click the links for a picture of each creation of mine) ..but this year I wanted to try something even more out of the box. I went with a cookie recipe I discovered here. With its pale white appearance and deep red filling, it was just perfect for the occasion! Simply irresistible, I'm sure Eric would even want a bite ;)

Vampire Bite Cookies
3/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 large egg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp almond or coconut extract
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
approx 1/2 cup red jam (raspberry/strawberry)

1. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light. Beat in egg and extracts.
2. Add flour and salt to the bowl and mix them into the butter-sugar mixture at low speed until dough is just combined. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 325F.
3. Divide dough in half and keep the portion you are not using in the refrigerator.
Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface until it is about 1/8-inch thick. Use a cookie cutter to cut out 2-inch rounds.
4. Place rounds on a baking sheet, put a teaspoon of jam on each of them and cover with another round of dough. Press edges down lightly, pinching the edges onto the cookie sheet. Use a toothpick and poke two small holes (like a vampire bite) in the top of each cookie.
5. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until cookies are set.
6. Cool for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
7. Dip a toothpick in some extra red jam and re-insert in the “bite” holes you made before baking to emphasize them, if not already red. Draw a blood trick down from one of the bites with the jam, if desired.

My Fabulous June!

This month has brought me many new opportunities, fun hobbies that I never thought to explore before and new ways of expressing my style! I know there is still a week left before we are officially done with this month, but with being so busy moving ext, thought I'd give a recap now.

It's been almost a year since I did anything new with my hair and I was itching to do something new. After a few weeks of contemplating, I decided to go for it and went from my natural dark brown hair to a strawberry blonde with blonder highlights! I went to Dolce Salon and Spa, the only salon I would trust with a 'color correction' such as this. Honesty when I am there I feel so relaxed, I would live there if I could ;) I adore my new hair color, and may even go a bit lighter in the near future. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get a good picture of it..comes out way darker then it is in person..but the bellow picture gives you an idea.
Last weekend a good friend of mine and I went on a 'staycation' at the Hyatt here in Scottsdale, AZ and for the most part it was wonderfully relaxing and definitely a good time. We lounged by the pool with yummy drinks adorned with fruit and danced the night away at a awesome club downtown. One day and one night was surely not enough. I am now day dreaming of a weekend at the beach.
As I have mentioned before, I am in the process of moving and actually getting a good deal done! The weird part of all this for me is that I will be moving back with my parents. Eeek! I moved out my Junior year of high school and haven't lived with them since..but due to my future PA program hopefully starting in the next year (which doesn't allow me to work full-time) I won't be able to afford an apartment. Even though I won't have the same level of privacy I have become accustom to..I am very thankful they want to take me in. Any way, the fun part of moving is getting to redecorate my new room! I am going with a french theme, with a flair of Moulin Rouge style, in black and different shades of pink. I have always loved everything Paris, my mom has said many times before that I must have been french in another life. So words can not express how much fun I am having designing this room. Pictures soon!
I was finally able to get down to see my friend Jamie's new beautiful baby Parker Mason! I did a small photo shoot for her, and it wasn't so simple (he was so active!) but we did get a few wonderful shots and she is super happy with the results which makes me a happy photographer. He was 3 weeks old when the pictures were taken.
And last but not least I have some INCREDIBLE news to share that just happened yesterday BUT I am going to save it for the 1st of July..yep I'm keeping you in suspense! So make sure to check back!

Love of Sally Hansen & Long Lashes

If you saw my 'summer essentials' video on youtube, then you know I am loving the Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail polish strips! They come in all these amazing designs and colors, no dry time, and they last forever without chipping..which is my very favorite part! It says on the package that they last 10 days... however I had the leopard design 'kitty kitty' on for a good 2 weeks before they started chipping. Yesterday I changed to this cute checkered design. When you want to take them off simply using nail polish remover does the trick.
Today I had an interview for a MA position at a Gastroenterologist office only 10 minutes from home! I am looking to gain 'experience hours' before I apply to get into my masters program to become a Physician Assistant (PA). I definitely take pride in my interview skills, and even though I think I rocked it out..I'm not sure if I will be given the position seeing that there are 200 applicants and I am not a certified MA..but there is always a small hope that they will be willing to give me a chance. Any way, today I tried something new with my make-up for my interview.
Normally fake eyelashes have been reserved for girls night out at the club..the most I usually do on a daily basis would be curl them with an eyelash curler and some covergirl mascara (about 2 coats focusing more in the corners). This past weekend one of my girls told me she was wearing individual fake eyelashes on her past interview (and she got the job!) and said she felt as though she was respected more due to her enhanced appearance. I don't doubt it either, I have read countless articles in psychology on how the beautiful are treated better and differently then those that may appear less attractive. So I thought, what the heck, I'll wear some lashes today, feel pretty/gain a bit more confidence and see if it makes a difference. I am in LOVE! They made my eyes pop even more and now I may just be addicted...I can hear my wallet crying right now..yet another beauty must have. Okay, so I may not do it every single day, but fake lashes I feel give a little more of a punch to your look and give you a bit more sparkle in your attitude and I definitely felt even more confident today. So if nothing else, fake lashes would be great to wear on those days were your either feeling down about your appearance or just as an extra pow to your outfit in the middle of a boring work week. Try it and let me know! I used MAC eyelashes (after curling and using mascara on my own lashes) and then did an extra coat of mascara on top after applying the falsies.
Please excuse my lack of lip gloss! That should definitely be a sin ;)

Isn't this necklace fabulous?! I was surprised at the great quality with thick torqouis stone detail and gold plates, as well a small gold link chain at the top which allows it to hang at different lengths. I will be posting a video soon with this necklace on my OOTD "Outfit of the Day"..which will show how to pair this without it looking too overpowering. This is my first 'statement' necklace, I usually go for more subtle small accessories.
It may a few more days until I am able to post another video to my channel, I am super busy moving right now. It's such a huge pain to move, especially since I really love my apartment and how I decorated it..but they raised the rent on me so I don't have much of a choice. I am about half way done! The picture bellow is of the boxes just from my productive kitchen packing last night.

Introducing my new pup Harley

Isn't my new baby boy just the cutest thing you have ever seen? He was born on February 16th, 2011. The above picture was taken on Easter so he was around 9 weeks old. He is a shih tzu and his name is Harley...although I don't call him by his name very often. I call him 'niblet' 'fluffball' and 'silly boy' constantly. He is such a ball of fire, always active and just such a sweetie. He plays fetch all the time, and actually brings it back to me! Past puppies I've had would run away with it and not bring it back every single time. He also hasn't had many accidents in the house *knock on wood* and goes to the door when he needs to go potty. Such a smarty!

Mid Year Recap

I can't believe its already June of 2011! So far this year has NOT gone the way I thought it would or had hoped it would..but I guess that is just how life is, unexpected and unpredictable. I have accomplished a few of my goals for the year, but still quite a bit left! Here is what I have done so far:

1. Finish Bikram Yoga Challenge (Jan)- I wasn't able to do the full 60 days due to the place closing down for renovations. I was super bummed because I was so dedicated the first 30 days, but if I can find a good deal again in the future I would definitely take it again.

2. 30 Day Vegan (Jan/Feb)- Going vegan for 30 days was definitely not easy to accomplish, especially with the pressure from family who did not approve of my new diet routine...but I did finish and I felt so healthy and amazing. I think everyone should challenge themselves and try to get rid of the meat in your diet. I promise you will see a change, not just in your figure but your skin will have a new glow and your digestion will improve!

3. Go To Ballet (Feb)- I love the ballet! One of my Christmas traditions is to go to The Nutcracker ballet every year with the family. But I never had the opportunity to go to any other ballet and made it a goal of mine to see a different one this year. Thanks to groupon.com, I was able to find an amazing deal for the Ballet Arizona's performance of Don Quixote. It was unbelievably gorgeous! The costumes, the set and of course the dancing was incredible.

4. Pay Off Surgery Bill (Jan)- Last year I had a small surgery that came out of pocket. I had taken out a medical loan that I needed to pay off by August of this year (due to the 0% interest until that point). Thankfully I was able to pay this off before my new health issue that I am now having concerning my gallbladder (..I'll elaborate at another time). Now if I could just win the lottery to pay off my school loans I would be golden! ;)

5. Read At Least 3 Books Other Then Textbooks- I made this goal for myself this year because I used to read ALL the time, but due to school and work getting in the way my 'to-read' list just kept growing and growing. So far I have already read 5 books!! The Almost Moon by Alice Sebold, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series (3 total) by Stieg Larsson and Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang by Chelsea Handler. I am currently reading Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. And I would love to read at least 3 more by the end of the year. I may also post reviews of the books as I go along, if time permits.

Other highlights from this year so far include:

-My younger brother graduated from High School this past week! So proud of him, but also sad that he will be going away to college soon. Also he made it to semi-finals at State with his varsity vollyball team! It was fun cheering them on at all the games.
-One of my best friends had her first baby, a boy named Parker Mason
-Finally changed from T-mobile to AT&T and have my new fabulous smart phone (Samsung GallaxyS also called a 'Captivate')
-We have a new puppy! His name is Harley and is a Shih tzu, I will for sure be posting more pictures of him soon.-Did my first maternity photo shoot back in March! Was so much fun and turned out really cute. I will also be doing my first newborn shoot this weekend.-Vegas spring break trip!-Seeing Josiah Lemming perform really close to me and getting to meet him!

Bikram Yoga Challenge: Day 10/60
Vegan Diet Challenge: Day 1/30

January is almost coming to a close and I thought it was time for an update. I'm not wasting any time this year that's for sure! I have already started opening myself up to the dating world once again, looking for love is a hard thing! I signed up on an online dating site and so far I've already weeded through more then a handful of weirdos and a barrel full of frogs, but I know deep down in my heart God will bless me with a prince soon. I pray for it each and every night, because I have waited so so long. I've had my run with just having 'fun' and a 'good time' with men (but if we are being honest here they are really shouldn't be considered to be more then boys), but I want a real and genuine committed relationship. Someone who appreciates all that I can give.

As far as health victories go, I started my Bikram Yoga 60 day Challenge on January 9th! You may be saying..well how are you only on day 10...well of course nothing can be simple in my life, I got terribly sick this past week and had to skip out on yoga for a few days (which I was so very annoyed about). BUT no worries, for this challenge I must go 60 times in 60 days..so to make up the days of sickness I will have to go TWO times in one day a few times. Oh lord have mercy..that is going to be a definite challenge (especially time wise) but I will do it! For those of you that don't know what Bikram yoga is, it is 26 yoga poses & 2 breathing exercises in a 105 degree room for 90 minutes. It's by no means an easy task, but I LOVE it and feel amazing after every session! The heat really makes almost like a daily detox for me as well. The picture above is me (day 4) in my yoga gear. The blue string on my wrist is to remind me to come every day and so the trainers know I am doing the challenge.

Also, as of today, I have started my pledge to the Vegan 30 day Challenge by PETA! In the past I have been a vegetarian, and found it really not to be a hardship for me. I love animals and giving up meat is not an inconvenience to me. The last 6 months of my life I have gone off a vegetarian diet (eating some chicken and fish mostly), but I've notice that I feel the best (more energy, skin glowing, digestion ext) when I am faithful to a vegetarian diet. I went onto PETA's site yesterday and saw their pledge to be on a vegan diet for 30 days. I have always shied away from becoming vegan due to selfishly not wanting to give up cheese and really all dairy. BUT this is a new me and a new year! So, as of today I am a vegan! :)

Chocolate please go back to the hell you came from and stop calling my name!! M&M's I swear have heroine in them, they are so addicting! My roommate agrees with this statement, she has even gone as far to make M&M's a food group in her diet haha. I am easily able to resist any form of chocolate as long as it does not reside in my house. Cookies, cakes, candy bars or any open chocolate chips or M&M's out on the counter are just a health hazard waiting to happen and usually lead to a road of unhealthy eating which is never ever good in my book. So guess what, I'm about to say something nuts...even I'm questioning this...but I have decided at the last minute to add 'absolutely no chocolate!' to my 2011 goals! I WILL keep this, no matter how dang hard it will be! I am going to tell all my close friends and family my goals as well so they can keep on top of me if they see me about to slip. The hardest part will be when I bake (which is pretty often since I have a small side baking business). Its difficult not to test-taste, but a lick here and a lick there can really add up. No more!

Pasta and I have a love hate relationship. I love it, it hates my hips. Yes, pasta to me is like that hot bad boy that I know I shouldn't go for, but in the end still end up saying "what the hell why not"...later I feel completely and utterly disgusted. At first glance he is charming, irresistibly good looking and smells incredible. So you "indulge", give into your every whim..then the truth comes out. He is no where near as sweet as you had been hypnotized to think, in fact he is a complete and utter selfish jerk. You feel so stupid for allowing yourself in that moment to be taken over by his charms, you may even feel sick to your stomach with regret.

What's worse is never learning from this mistake! Being half Italian and half Spanish, carbs are basically in my blood. I could live on fresh baked bread and pasta and be the happiest girl in the world. However, I also inherited the crappiest metabolism known to man, add a thyroid problem and polycystic ovarian syndrome to that and you really got a hard time managing your shape. Tonight I went to dinner with a good friend of mine, bless her she has an amazing metabolism and is adorably tiny, so couldn't relate to my pasta drama. There I ordered spaghetti a la marinara 'small.' When they brought out this 'small' portion (it literally was a mammoth towering bowl of pasta) I was in pasta heaven, as if Italy was some how in my bowl. So I proceed to eat about 1/3 of the bowl and now I feel so sick and guilty ugh. Any one else out there feel my pain? I'm adding a new goal to my list for 2011, less pasta and more veggies. Take that devil pasta, no more will I give into your wicked ways!

2011, a new year is just days away and I can just feel it, this will be MY year! 1's and 3's are always lucky in my family. My birthday this year will be on 7/31/11! Three 1's in a row is very lucky! Also This year my mom's 50th birthday is on 1/11/11! So it's easy to just announce that 'this is going to be my year' just because of a few numbers in a row. But I am determined, full of ambition, and ready to set goals and actually meet these goals. I am setting up this blog as a way to keep me on track. I will be updating on my progress every so often with inspiring tid bits, and important events throughout my journey. Photography is a big hobby of mine so I will also be sharing some of my work on here, including self portraits (like above).

The above quote is from one of my most favorite icons, Marilyn Monroe, who never fails to surprise me with her quiet brilliance. Some people took her for a 'dumb blonde' but she is no where near, her quotes always speak to me and inspire. Her words will be the basis for many of my posts here.
